Acclimatise: Leave the roll in the room for 24 hours at room temperature — rubber relaxes and settles, ensuring the best possible flat lay.
Prepare subfloor: Clean, dry, level hard floor — concrete, screed, timber or existing hard floor. Sweep thoroughly.
Loose-lay or fix: For most gym applications, loose-lay is sufficient — the roll weight keeps it flat and stationary. For commercial traffic, permanent adhesive or double-sided tape at edges, seams and doorways delivers a professional finish.
Cut to fit: Score against a straight edge with a sharp utility knife — rubber rolls cut cleanly and accurately.
Seam joining: For multi-roll installations, butt rolls edge-to-edge and tape seams from underneath for an invisible join.
