200kg drop rated: for dumbbells, kettlebells and barbells set down from the hip
Large 3ft x 3ft mats: 0.84m² each, fewer joins and a faster install
17mm dense rubber: firm and stable underfoot, protects floors and equipment
Interlocking on all sides: tool-free, no adhesive, lifts and relays if you move
Yellow or black ramp edges: a safe, bevelled finish on every exposed edge
Built for Serious Training
At 17mm with a 200kg drop rating, these mats are made for the heaviest parts of the gym floor: dumbbell areas, kettlebell circuits, loaded carries, box-jump landings and barbell deadlifts set down from the hip. The dense rubber spreads the impact across the mat, protecting your subfloor, your equipment and your joints session after session.
The weight of each mat and the interlock on all four edges keep the floor firmly in place under squat racks, cable machines, sled pushes and busy daily use.
The 3ft x 3ft Commercial Format
The 915mm square mat is the classic commercial gym size. Fewer mats cover the same floor, so there are fewer joins, the floor looks cleaner and it goes down faster. At around 14kg, each mat is easy for one person to carry and lock into place.
Planning a lifting platform? Pair these mats with our 30mm heavy duty tiles in the drop zone and use 17mm mats across the surrounding training floor.
Yellow or Black Ramp Edges
Matching 1m ramp edges lock onto the mat edge and create a smooth, bevelled step-down to the surrounding floor. Choose them from the options above.
Yellow: a high-visibility edge for commercial gyms, leisure centres, schools and universities
Black: a clean, understated finish for home gyms, garage gyms and PT studios
You only need ramp edges where the mats finish in open floor. Edges against a wall don't need them.
Where to Use 17mm Gym Mats
Functional fitness boxes and training floors: barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells and sleds
Free-weight zones in commercial gyms: commercial-grade durability under heavy daily use
Garage and home gyms: straight onto concrete, under racks, benches and dumbbells
Leisure centres, schools and universities: yellow ramp edges for a clearly marked floor edge
PT studios, hotel and corporate gyms: a clean, professional-looking floor

Installation
Acclimatise: lay the mats flat in the room for 24 hours before fitting.
Prepare the subfloor: any clean, dry, level hard floor, including concrete, screed, timber or existing hard flooring.
Lock the mats together: start from your straightest wall and press each mat's interlocking edge into the last, row by row.
Cut to fit: cut the perimeter mats with a jigsaw or a sharp utility knife against a straight edge.
Fit ramp edges: lock yellow or black ramp edges onto every edge that finishes in open floor.
Most rooms are finished in a single session, and you can train on your new floor the same day.
Free UK mainland delivery on every order, with no minimum spend. Orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday are dispatched the same day. Smaller orders travel by courier and larger orders are delivered on a pallet. 14-day returns on unused mats in their original condition.
The mats are rated for repeated impacts from loads up to 200kg, covering dropped dumbbells and kettlebells and barbells set down from the hip. For repeated overhead drops of loaded barbells, add a 30mm lifting zone.
How many mats do I need?
Divide the room length by 0.915m and round up, do the same for the width and multiply. A 3m x 3m room is a 4 x 4 layout, so 16 mats, with the perimeter mats cut to fit.
Do I need ramp edges?
Only on edges that finish in open floor, where they give a smooth, safe step-down. Edges against a wall don't need them. Order one 1m ramp per metre of open edge.
Yellow or black ramp edges?
Yellow gives a high-visibility edge for commercial gyms, schools and leisure centres. Black gives a clean, understated finish for home gyms, garage gyms and PT studios.
Do I need adhesive?
No. The interlocking edges and the weight of the mats keep the floor in place under normal gym use.
Can I cut the mats to fit?
Yes. Use a jigsaw, or a sharp utility knife against a straight edge, for clean cuts around walls, pillars and doorways.
Can I lay them in a garage?
Yes. They lay straight onto concrete and any clean, dry, level hard floor.
Yes. We supply commercial gyms, schools, universities, leisure centres and fit-out contractors across the UK. Send us your floor plan for a bulk quote, usually within 24 hours.

Came with the neatest packaging youd hope for, straight to covering the slippery patio effortlessly. Up close, these mats don’t quite have that luxury finish but their grip certainly wins them points during rainy workouts outdoors.
Arrived snug in its packaging and ready to install. We laid these tiles in our university gyms weight room, and theyve made a noticeable difference. The thickness offers excellent support for heavy lifting and ensures that any dropped weights dont damage the floor, perfect given its 80kg drop rating. Would definitely consider purchasing more as the gym expands – they interlock seamlessly, making adjustments simple and straightforward.
Took a punt on this set of tiles for our training space, and Ive got to say they fit brilliantly. Slotted together easily, leaving no annoying gaps that I’ve dealt with before. The density gives a really nice cushioning effect but isn’t too spongy. No issues taking several drops of heavy gear – definitely holds up under the usual use and keeps everything looking smart.
Fitted it in my home gym, part of a garage revamp, and I’m satisfied with how great these interlocking tiles look up close. The finish is smooth yet has enough texture to keep the barbells in place during heavy lifts. With each mat having such density, the flooring doesn’t shift even after multiple power-lifting sessions. So far, its proven resilient against heavy weights being dropped frequently, which was just what we needed for our setup.

Incredibly impressed at how seamlessly these tiles fit together. Tackling the home gym setup in our garage was made much easier with the dense, interlocking design of the flooring. Handling weights hasnt been an issue; it’s stable even under the 80kg drop from our bench press set-up, which feels reassuringly durable. It’s genuinely transformed the space and held up well—even during those more intense sessions when everythings put through its paces.
At this price, I thought why not protect the garage floor a bit more? Used a few of these 17mm interlocking mats under my weightlifting bench. They fit together nicely like puzzle pieces, and theyve got that solid feel you want when youre dropping weights. Even after some heavy squat sessions, they’re holding strong, keeping everything steady and in place.

Took a punt on these interlocking gym tiles for my garage home gym, and Im really chuffed with how simple they were to put down. Not only did the tiles click together effortlessly, but theyve also been holding up brilliantly against all kinds of weight drops during workouts. Honestly feels like Ive transformed the space and made it much more practical for daily use!
Arrived solidly packed and ready to use. Set these tiles up in the university fitness room right under our cardio machines. The interlocking system slots together tightly, and despite being fairly simple to align, stays put even with all the foot traffic passing over it daily. Theyre brilliant for good traction; no more slipping you usually get with worn surfaces. Very impressive for something so easy to handle and durable for such frequent usage.
Had to fit the high-impact zone in our fitness centre with proper flooring, so I opted for these interlocking gym mats.
