Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are these tiles suitable for a PT studio used for 1-to-1 and small group sessions?
A: Yes — these 16mm rubber tiles are the specification used in PT studios, boutique training spaces, and small group training facilities across the UK. The EN 13893 slip resistance certification makes them safe for barefoot training, functional movements, and all fitness disciplines common in personal training environments.
Q: Will the floor cope with a mix of equipment — kettlebells, battle ropes, sled, and bodyweight?
A: Absolutely. The 900 kg/m³ density and 70% impact absorption handle kettlebell swings, sled pushes, rope slams, and bodyweight plyometrics without surface degradation. The interlocking system stays unified under multi-directional force from lateral drills and dynamic movements.
Q: How does noise reduction work — important for studio spaces in shared buildings?
A: The 16mm rubber tiles deliver 65% noise reduction versus bare concrete. For PT studios in multi-tenant commercial buildings or above residential units, this significantly reduces impact noise transmission to floors below — important for maintaining good relations with neighbouring tenants.
Q: Are the tiles REACH and CE certified — required for professional studio environments?
A: Yes. CE marking and REACH compliance are standard on these tiles, alongside EN 13893 slip certification. These credentials are typically required by commercial lease agreements for fitness use and may be requested by facility insurers for professional PT studio spaces.
Q: How do I keep the studio floor hygienic with multiple clients training daily?
A: Wipe down between sessions with a gym-safe antibacterial spray and mop. The dense rubber (900 kg/m³) resists liquid absorption, so sweat and spillages sit on the surface rather than penetrating. A weekly deeper clean with diluted gym disinfectant keeps the floor fresh and hygienic for client-facing use.
Q: Can I brand or customise the floor for my PT studio?
A: The tiles are available in standard black. For branding, rubber-compatible floor paint or vinyl logo inserts can be applied over a cured rubber surface. Some studios use colour-contrast tiles to define zones (e.g., stretching area vs. lifting area). Contact us for options if you're planning a branded studio installation.
