How to Order & Measure
Ordering the right amount is simple:
- Measure your space: Length × Width. Our rolls are 1m wide, so for a 5m × 3m room you'd need three separate 5m lengths (covering 3m width).
- Choose your thickness using the guide above.
- Select cut-to-length or full 10m roll — cut-to-length is perfect for odd dimensions with zero waste.
- Add to cart and we'll cut your order to the nearest centimetre before dispatch.

Installation Guide
- Prepare the sub-floor: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, flat and free from dust, grease or debris.
- Acclimatise the roll: Allow the rubber to unroll and rest in the room for 30–60 minutes before fitting — this removes any curl from transit.
- Lay from one edge: Start at the longest straight wall and roll out, trimming to fit with a sharp utility knife and straight edge.
- Butt edges tightly: If using multiple rolls side by side, push edges flush together — no overlap.
- Secure if required: For permanent installations use double-sided carpet tape or rubber flooring adhesive along edges and seams. For loose-lay gym use, the weight of rubber is usually sufficient.
- Trim door thresholds: Use rubber edging strips or bevelled trim for a neat, safe edge at doorways.
- Final check: Walk the surface to ensure no bubbles or lifted edges before bringing in equipment.
Frequently Asked Questions
What thickness is most popular for PT studios?
6mm is the most popular choice for general PT studio use — it provides excellent cushioning for bodyweight and functional training while being stable enough for free-weight work. Studios offering significant barbell work or strength and conditioning typically opt for 8mm or 10mm.
Will the flooring look professional enough for paying clients?
Our rubber rolls have a consistent black (or black/red speckle) surface finish that looks clean, modern and professional. Many PT studios and boutique gyms across the UK use this exact product. The seamless look is noticeably more premium than tiled flooring with visible joins.
How easy is it to keep clean between client sessions?
Very easy. The closed-cell EPDM surface can be quickly wiped down with a damp cloth or spray between sessions, and mopped with a neutral gym floor cleaner for deeper cleans. No grout lines or tile joins means hygiene is far easier to maintain than tiled alternatives.
Can I use this flooring for yoga or Pilates as well as strength training?
Yes. The 4mm roll provides a comfortable, grippy surface for yoga and Pilates. If your studio does both yoga and heavy lifting, consider using 6mm throughout as a compromise, or different thicknesses in different zones.
Does the rubber smell affect the studio environment?
New SBR rubber has a faint natural rubber odour that dissipates within a few days of installation with adequate ventilation. Airing the studio with windows open for 2–3 days after installation eliminates any noticeable smell.
Is this flooring suitable for a rented studio space?
Yes — for rented spaces, use a loose-lay installation (no adhesive). The weight of the rubber keeps it flat, and when your lease ends the rolls can be rolled up and moved to your next location.
