✔️ Lightweight EVA Foam  |  ✔️ Anti-Fatigue Cushioning  |  ✔️ 610mm × 610mm (24 inch)  |  ✔️ Grey & Black

The EVA interlocking gym mat is the lightweight, cushioning alternative to rubber flooring — purpose-built for yoga, Pilates, stretching, dance, aerobics and low-impact floor exercise where a soft, anti-fatigue surface matters more than heavy-duty impact protection.

At just 1.2kg per tile, these are the easiest gym floor tiles to handle, move, store and reconfigure. The closed-cell EVA foam surface is non-porous, water-resistant and easy to wipe clean. Available in Grey and Black — both creating a clean, professional studio aesthetic.

Best for Yoga, Pilates, stretching, dance, aerobics, children's play All weight training, CrossFit, commercial gyms

💡 Honest guidance: EVA foam tiles are the right choice for dedicated yoga studios, Pilates rooms, dance floors, stretching zones and children's activity areas. If your space involves any weights, gym equipment, treadmills or machine use — upgrade to rubber tiles. EVA compresses permanently under heavy loads and is not designed for equipment use.

Where EVA Gym Mats Work Best

  • Yoga studios and home yoga rooms — soft, joint-friendly surface for all poses and transitions
  • Pilates studios — cushioned surface for mat-based Pilates, reformer warm-up areas
  • Stretching and recovery zones — dedicated recovery areas within commercial gyms
  • Dance and aerobics studios — light and easy to reconfigure
  • Children's play and activity areas — soft landing surface, lightweight, easy to clean
  • Martial arts warm-up areas — stretching and bodyweight work (not grappling — use tatami for that)
  • Lightweight home gym zones — cardio area, stretching corner, bodyweight training
  • ⚠️ NOT suitable for: any weights, gym equipment, treadmills, squat racks, cable machines or heavy foot traffic zones

Colour Options — Grey or Black

  • Grey — light, airy aesthetic. Particularly popular in yoga studios, Pilates rooms and studio spaces with natural lighting. Creates a calm, focused environment.
  • Black — clean, modern look. Works in home gym setups, stretching zones within commercial gyms and any space with a dark colour scheme.

Both colours can be mixed on the same floor — the puzzle edge connects any tile regardless of colour, so you can create patterns or zones using both options.

How Many Tiles Do You Need?

Each tile covers 0.37m² (610mm × 610mm). You need approximately 2.7 tiles per m². Multiply your floor area by 3 to get tile count (includes ~10% waste).

Area Tiles (inc. 10% waste) Approx. Cost
Yoga mat area (2m × 3m) 6 m² ~18 tiles ~£151
Small studio (3m × 4m) 12 m² ~36 tiles ~£302
Home yoga room (4m × 4m) 16 m² ~48 tiles ~£403
Pilates studio (5m × 6m) 30 m² ~90 tiles ~£755
Dance studio (6m × 8m) 48 m² ~145 tiles ~£1,217

Installation — Fastest Gym Tile to Lay

At 1.2kg per tile, EVA mats are the lightest and fastest gym tiles to install. A 20m² studio can be floored solo in 30–45 minutes.

  1. Clean the subfloor — sweep thoroughly. Grit and debris under tiles cause surface wear on the underside over time.
  2. Plan your layout — for rectangular rooms, start from the centre and work outward for even-width cuts at both walls.
  3. Connect tiles — press puzzle edges together firmly. The lightweight foam connects easily. Work row by row.
  4. Cut edge tiles — score with a sharp Stanley knife and snap, or cut cleanly with scissors or a craft knife. EVA cuts easily and cleanly.
  5. Fit straight edge strips — the straight-edge border strips (included) replace the puzzle edge along the perimeter for a clean, finished look.

Cleaning & Maintenance

  • Daily: Wipe down with a damp cloth or mop. EVA is non-porous — sweat and moisture don't soak in.
  • Weekly: Clean with mild diluted cleaner or white vinegar solution. Avoid bleach and harsh chemicals which can degrade the foam.
  • Odour (new tiles): EVA foam has a characteristic new-foam smell that dissipates within 1–2 weeks of ventilation.
  • Do not use: Steam mops, abrasive cleaners, petroleum-based products.

Frequently Asked Questions — EVA Gym Mats

Q: Can I use EVA foam tiles under a treadmill or exercise bike?
A: Not recommended. EVA foam compresses permanently under static equipment loads. For cardio equipment, exercise bikes and treadmills, use our 12mm commercial rubber tiles which are rated for equipment use and won't permanently compress.

Q: Are EVA tiles suitable for yoga?
A: Yes — EVA foam is ideal for yoga. The cushioned surface is comfortable for seated poses, transitions and floor work. The non-porous surface is easy to wipe clean between sessions.

Q: Can I mix grey and black tiles on the same floor?
A: Yes. Both colours use the same puzzle-edge profile and connect directly together. Grey and black tiles can be combined to create patterns, zones or borders.

Q: How many EVA tiles do I need per m²?
A: Each tile covers 0.37m² (610mm × 610mm). You need approximately 2.7 tiles per m². Multiply your floor area by 3 to get your tile count with 10% waste included.

Q: Are EVA mats suitable for Pilates reformer machines?
A: For the area around the reformer where clients stand and move — yes, EVA is comfortable and appropriate. Under the reformer feet directly, use a thin rubber mat or the reformer's own foot pads to prevent compression under the static weight.

Q: What's the difference between EVA foam and rubber gym tiles?
A: EVA foam is soft, lightweight and highly cushioning — ideal for yoga, Pilates, stretching and low-impact floor exercise. Rubber tiles are dense, heavy and load-bearing — designed for weights, machines and heavy training. They serve completely different applications and should not be substituted for each other.
