Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Are these tiles suitable for CrossFit workouts including Olympic lifts and box jumps?
A: Yes. These 20mm rubber gym tiles are rated to 400kg/m² static load and are specifically designed to absorb the repeated high-impact forces of CrossFit training — including barbell drops, box jumps, burpees, and kettlebell work. The R10 slip-resistant surface ensures grip even when the floor gets sweaty.
Q: What size are the tiles and how many do I need to cover my CrossFit space?
A: Each tile measures 1000mm × 1000mm, giving exactly 1m² of coverage per tile. To calculate how many you need, simply measure your floor area in square metres and order that quantity. For a typical 6m × 6m CrossFit zone, you would need 36 tiles.
Q: Do the tiles need adhesive or interlocking clips to stay in place?
A: No adhesive or clips are required. These tiles use a precision butt-joint system where straight edges sit flush against each other. On most surfaces they remain stable under normal training loads. For permanent installations or high-traffic areas, we recommend a suitable flooring adhesive along the perimeter.
Q: What slip resistance rating do these CrossFit tiles have?
A: The tiles carry an R10 slip resistance rating under DIN 51130, which classifies them as suitable for sports and fitness environments. This rating ensures reliable grip during fast lateral movements, rope climbs, and high-intensity circuit training common in CrossFit.
Q: Are these tiles CE and REACH certified?
A: Yes. All our 20mm rubber gym tiles are CE marked and REACH compliant, confirming they meet European safety and chemical regulations. They are free from harmful substances and suitable for use in commercial and home fitness environments.
Q: Can these tiles be used outdoors or in a garage CrossFit setup?
A: These tiles are primarily designed for indoor use. While they are robust and moisture-resistant, prolonged outdoor UV exposure may cause surface degradation over time. For a covered garage CrossFit setup — such as a roller-door unit or indoor garage — they perform excellently. If you need fully outdoor-rated tiles, please contact us for our outdoor-specific range.
