Thickness Guide
Which thickness do I need?
4–6mm — Cardio, treadmills, yoga. Light floor protection.
10–12mm — Home gyms, dumbbells up to 30kg. Great all-rounder. Most Popular
16–17mm — Commercial gyms, heavy free weights, CrossFit.
20–30mm — Olympic lifting, deadlift platforms. Maximum protection.

Cardio zones see the highest footfall in any gym — and the surface under your treadmills, bikes and rowers needs to protect the sub-floor, dampen vibration and stay grippy no matter how hard members are working. Our rubber gym floor rolls for cardio zones are available in 4mm and 6mm — the optimal thicknesses for cardio equipment, delivering vibration absorption without the unnecessary bulk of thicker rolls. The seamless, continuous surface means no joins for feet to catch on and no gaps that trap sweat and bacteria. Cut to your exact run length, these rolls fit corridors, treadmill decks and bike bays perfectly.

How to Order & Measure
Ordering the right amount is simple:
- Measure your space: Length × Width. Our rolls are 1m wide, so for a 5m × 3m room you'd need three separate 5m lengths (covering 3m width).
- Choose your thickness using the guide above.
- Select cut-to-length or full 10m roll — cut-to-length is perfect for odd dimensions with zero waste.
- Add to cart and we'll cut your order to the nearest centimetre before dispatch.

Installation Guide
- Prepare the sub-floor: Ensure the surface is clean, dry, flat and free from dust, grease or debris.
- Acclimatise the roll: Allow the rubber to unroll and rest in the room for 30–60 minutes before fitting — this removes any curl from transit.
- Lay from one edge: Start at the longest straight wall and roll out, trimming to fit with a sharp utility knife and straight edge.
- Butt edges tightly: If using multiple rolls side by side, push edges flush together — no overlap.
- Secure if required: For permanent installations use double-sided carpet tape or rubber flooring adhesive along edges and seams. For loose-lay gym use, the weight of rubber is usually sufficient.
- Trim door thresholds: Use rubber edging strips or bevelled trim for a neat, safe edge at doorways.
- Final check: Walk the surface to ensure no bubbles or lifted edges before bringing in equipment.
Frequently Asked Questions
What thickness is best for treadmills?
For treadmills and cardio equipment we recommend 4mm or 6mm. These thicknesses absorb vibration and protect the sub-floor without raising the equipment height significantly, which can affect step length and user comfort on running machines.
Will a thin 4mm roll be durable enough for a busy gym?
Yes — our 4mm roll is manufactured from high-density SBR rubber with an EPDM top layer, making it extremely durable under constant foot traffic. It's the same core material as our 12mm rolls, just at a thinner gauge suited to lighter-impact cardio areas.
Can the rolls be cut around equipment feet?
Yes. Use a sharp utility knife and straight edge to make precise cuts around equipment feet, columns or drainage channels. The dense rubber holds a clean cut edge and won't fray.
Do I need adhesive for cardio areas?
For most cardio installations, the weight of the rubber and the friction of the textured base are sufficient to keep the rolls in place, especially under equipment. For permanent installations or high-traffic corridors, we recommend double-sided carpet tape along the edges.
How do I clean rubber flooring in a cardio zone?
Sweep or vacuum daily to remove dust and debris. Mop weekly with a diluted neutral-pH gym floor cleaner. Avoid bleach or solvent-based products which can damage the EPDM surface layer over time.
Is this suitable for home cardio rooms as well as commercial gyms?
Absolutely. The same product works perfectly in a home cardio room, garage gym or basement — the cut-to-length option means you can fit any size space without waste.
